Hi All,

Would you happen to have some documentation on installing Holiday Importer to a 3CX Linux instance? I gather Linux is now supported, but we'd love some documentation.

Thanks!

While we do support both the Windows and the Linux versions of 3CX, it is important to understand how we communicate with 3CX.  3CX has requested that no non-3CX software be installed directly on the 3CX server.  But at the same time, the 3CX Call Control API does not allow requests from localhost.  Obviously, that creates a challenge.  Our solution was to create a relay agent that is installed directly on the 3CX server (Windows or Linux) and have our tools talk to 3CX through the relay.

VoIPTools Products --> VoIPTools Relay ---> 3CX

Our tools, therefore, must be installed on a separate Windows server/PC/VM.  While we support the Linux version of 3CX, our tools are all Windows applications.

@adminvoip Thanks Matthew. Another question I have is what if we have multiple 3CX instances? Are we able to use the single "VoIP Tools" VM to communicate to all of them?

Yes, it is possible to install our tools multiple times on the same computer.  However, this will be a manual installation process that will need to be done by our support team.  This will allow you to use one "VoIPTools" server to support multiple 3CX servers.
